Phoebe Anderson Ready for NCAA Indoor Championships

5,000m will take place on Friday at 8:20 p.m.
BOSTON, Mass. — Phoebe Anderson is set to represent the Columbia Track & Field team at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend.
This year's championships will be co-hosted by Boston College and the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The competition will be held from March 7-9 at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
Anderson qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 5,000m, where her season best time of 15:36.87 ranked 10th in the nation. The 5,000m championship will take place at 8:20 p.m. on Friday, March 8.
Anderson is one of 16 student-athletes who will be competing in the event. The top eight finishers will be named an NCAA All-American, while the next eight finishers will be a Second Team All-American.

Anderson is coming off a fantastic finish to the indoor season at the Ivy League Indoor Heps, representing the women with a First Team All-Ivy selection in the 5,000m after her dominant first-place finish in the event with a meet-record time of 15:41.31. She was also recognized for her academics, as the sustainable development major was named to the Academic All-Ivy Team. She will look to ride that momentum and to dominate on the track tomorrow.

Following the NCAA Championships, the Lions will have a couple weeks off before beginning their outdoor schedule on Saturday, March 23 at the Penn Challenge.
