Anderson Finished Top-10 in 5k at NCAA Indoor Championships
BOSTON, Mass. — Phoebe Anderson was named a Second Team All-American after finishing top-10 in the 5k at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The Lions' distance star crossed the finish line with a time of 15:37.21 which was good for 10th place in the competition.
Florida's Parker Valby took the gold medal in the event with a time of 14:52.79.
Anderson was one of 16 student-athletes who competed in the event. The top eight finishers were named an NCAA All-American, while the next eight finishers were awarded Second Team All-American honors.
Full results from the event can be found HERE.
This year's championships are being co-hosted by Boston College and the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The competition continues tomorrow at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
Anderson now completes what was a historic indoor campaign. During the regular season, the junior broke three program records, in the 5k, 3k, and mile, and posted top-10 times in the history of the Ivy League in each event. She went on to win an Ivy League Championship in the 5k, and was named First Team All-Ivy. She capped it all off by being named a Second Team All-American at nationals. She will look to carry over this momentum into the outdoor season.
UP NEXT
The Lions will now have a couple weeks off before beginning their outdoor schedule on Saturday, March 23 at the Penn Challenge.
