Chang Earns Top 10 at Princeton Invitational

Lions conclude fall campaign
PRINCETON, N.J. — First-year Christine Chang led the Columbia women's golf team with a top-10 finish at the Princeton Invitational. The three-round event was held Saturday and Sunday at Springdale Golf Club.
Chang posted rounds of even-par 71, 4-over 75 and 3-over 74 to earn her first collegiate top 10. The Auburn, Alabama native ends the fall with a team-leading stroke average of 74.89. Her 71 on Saturday was her lowest round to date.
First-year Emily Luo (+18) and Sarah Shao (+19) finished in the top half of the 75-player field. Luo fired a 74 in Sunday's final round. Shao had a 75 in the first round and a 76 in the final round.
Columbia (+63) finished ninth in the 12-team field, ahead of UAlbany (+67), St. John's (+70) and FDU (+86). The Lions saved their best team round for Sunday, using 74s from Chang and Luo coupled with 76s from Shao and Emma Shen for a 16-over-par 300.
The Princeton Invitational concludes Columbia's fall schedule. The Lions begin the spring season February 8-9 when they host the Columbia Classic at Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Florida.
