
Women’s Golf Set to Host Season-Opening Columbia Classic

Lions begin spring competition this weekend in Florida
NEW YORK — The Columbia women's golf team begins its 2025 championship season by hosting the Columbia Classic at Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Florida. The three-round, 54-hole tournament begins on Saturday.
Fans looking to keep up with the tournament can track live scoring via the College Golf Scoreboard.
This year's field features an estimated 71 total competitors with 12 teams and 11 additional individuals. Columbia, Princeton, Dartmouth and Penn will represent the Ivy League. The rest of the field includes Boston University, Duquesne, Emory, Illinois State, Marshall, Quinnipiac, Seton Hall and Youngstown State.
The competitors will play 36 continuous holes on Saturday, followed by the final round on Sunday. The field will tee off in a shotgun format at 8:30 a.m. on both days. Duran Golf Club will be set as a 6,312-yard standard par 72. Fans can visit DuranGolf.com for more information on the course.
Columbia's team lineup for the opening round will consist of first-years Christine Chang, Sarah Shao and Emily Luo, as well as juniors Emma Shen and Yoko Tai. Sophomore Lauren Lee is also representing Columbia, competing as an individual. All team and individual competitors for Saturday's opening round will be posted when available on the live-scoring page.
Columbia's trio of first-years led the way in the fall. Chang (74.89) carried the best stroke average and earned a top-10 finish at the Princeton Invitational (Sept. 28-29). Shao (76.22) and Luo (76.44) were second and third in stroke average through the fall. Shen (77.67) and Tai (79.56) rounded out the top five.
