Men's Swimming & Diving Set for Back-to-Back Against Princeton and Yale

Lions will travel to the Tigers on Friday and host the Bulldogs on Saturday
NEW YORK — After a big win over Penn to open the season, the Columbia men's swimming and diving team's season continues this weekend with a back-to-back against Princeton and Yale. The Lions will travel to New Jersey to take on the Tigers on Friday at 5 p.m. before returning home to host the Bulldogs on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Spectators without a valid Columbia University ID or a registered QR code must enter the Uris Swim Center Balcony through the Northwest Corner Building at W120th & Broadway.
LAST TIME OUT
The Lions opened the 2025-26 season in style last Saturday afternoon, earning an Ivy victory over Penn, 166-134, at Sheerr Pool in Philadelphia.
Isaac Beers picked up Columbia's first win of the year in the 100 back, touching the wall at 49.27 to lead the pack.
Adam Wu followed that up with a win in the 200 fly, clocking in at 1:47.70.
Zion James won his first event of the year, taking the 50 free with a time of 20.28.
As the meet wound down, the Lions picked up two more wins to help secure the victory. Gian Santos won the 500 free with a time of 4:34.75, and Lucas Zhang took the 100 fly in his season debut, clocking a 48.81.
For the divers, Joseph Nicol was the team's lone double winner as he won both the one and three meter events with scores of 333.75 and 359.25, respectively.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
The Tigers enter Friday's contest with a 2-0 record to open the season, picking up two Ivy wins over Dartmouth and Brown.
Last season, Princeton finished 10-1 overall and was undefeated in conference meets. The Tigers would go on to win the Ivy League Championship.
In last year's showdown, the Lions came up short against Princeton (168-132).
The Tigers broke 10 pool records in a tri-meet in Hanover, N.H. in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 1000 free, 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 back, 200 breast, 400 free relay and 200 medley relay.
Mitchell Schott and Logan Noguchi each set a pair of two records and added a third as part of a relay.

SCOUTING YALE
This will be the Bulldogs' second official meet of the season, with their season opener against Brown scheduled for later on Thursday evening.
Yale finished last season with an overall record of 7-1, with a 6-1 mark in Ivy League dual meets. The Bulldogs would go on to finish third at the Ivy League Championships.
Last season, Yale earned a 209-91 win over the Lions.
Yale is led this season by Alexander Hazlett, a First Team All-Ivy honoree after securing gold in the 200-yard medley relay and setting a team record with a time of 1:24.00. Hazlett also showcased his talents on the national stage as a qualifier for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 IM. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Jecko IM Team Award and earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors for the 2022–23 season.
