Men’s Golf Captures Sixth at ECU Intercollegiate

Lions have four finish inside the top 40
GREENVILLE, N.C. — The Columbia men's golf team finished sixth out of 16 teams at the ECU Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was held Monday and Tuesday at Brook Valley Country Club.
Columbia had four players finish inside the top-40 of the over 100 player field. Leading the way for the Lions was first-year Grant Lester, who carded rounds of 68, 75, and 77 to finish 13th at 4-over par. Lester began the tournament shooting a 4-under 68, tied for his fourth best round this year.
Junior George Rubelsky had a fantastic final round, moving up seven spots on the leaderboard to finish 32nd with three rounds at 76 to finish 12-over. It is his third top-30 finish this season.
Wyatt McGovern and Darren Pang finished tied for 36th, finishing 13-over-par. McGovern shot an opening round at even par, which saw him card five birdies and an eagle on the par-5 second hole. Pang was consistent all tournament, shooting rounds of 77,75, and 77.
UCF (+8) won the 16-team event. East Carolina's Nathan O'Neal was the individual medalist, finishing 5-under.
The Lions return to action on Monday, March 31, when they host the Columbia Spring Invitational. The tournament is being held at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa.
