NEW YORK — The Columbia women's golf team, Augusta University and the ANNIKA Foundation will co-host the inaugural More Than Golf Invitational this weekend. The three-day, 54-hole event will be contested Friday-Sunday at Old Barnwell in Aiken, South Carolina.
The new tournament is designed to provide an exceptional, high-quality golf experience and the opportunity for participants to advance their careers. The individual medalist will receive up to three complimentary starts on the ANNIKA Women's All Pro Tour throughout the summer.
Fans looking to keep up with the tournament can track live scoring via the College Golf Scoreboard.
The field features 12 teams and 72 individual competitors. Joining co-hosts Columbia and Augusta University are Dartmouth College, Oakland, George Southern, Delaware, Charleston Southern, Kennesaw State, UAlbany, Georgetown, East Tennessee State and Illinois State.
The competition begins on Friday with fixed tee times off the first and 10th tees, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Columbia will be represented by first-years Christine Chang, Sarah Shao and Emily Luo, juniors Emma Shen and Yoko Tai, and sophomore Lauren Lee. Chang will tee off first among the Lions at 9:30 a.m.
The tees at Old Barnwell will be set at 6,425 yards with a score of par totaling 73. The program, launched in 2023, provides four golfers each year the opportunity to work toward a professional career.
In addition to the competition, The ANNIKA Foundation will host a college-am on Thursday, with the opportunity to meet and interact with members of Old Barnwell. The Executive Women's Clinic on Friday will teach and introduce female executives to the game of golf.
