Last Time Out

Columbia dropped its second straight match last Friday in its Ivy League opener to Cornell at home, 5-2. The Lions went down 4-0 in the first quarter but cut into the deficit when Jacinta Solari Etcheberry scored off a penalty corner 8:45 into the third quarter. Sophia Abate was credited with the assist. Cornell added an insurance goal before Abate found the back of the cage for Columbia's second goal in the fourth period.

Spreading the Wealth

Columbia's 13 goals this season have come from the sticks of eight different players. Jacinta Solari Etcheberry leads the team with four goals, while Izzy Kaczor and Sophia Abate have two, with Mckenzie Bloom, Lizzie Adams, Ashley Kim, Maya Raphael, and Agustina Solari Etcheberry having all found the back of the cage once.

Houle Impresses

Goalkeeper Margot Houle won her first three career starts. The sophomore from Potomac, Maryland, has recorded 29 saves this season, which ranks second among Ivy League goalkeepers. Houle earned her first career shutout in Sept. 5's season-opening upset win at No. 18 UAlbany.
