Lions look to lock up Ivy Madness berth
NEW YORK – Back in first place in the Ivy League standings, the Columbia women's basketball team (17-6, 8-2 Ivy) travels to Hanover, New Hampshire, to face Dartmouth (10-13, 1-9 Ivy). Opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.
BROADCAST INFORMATION
Saturday afternoon's game will be available on ESPN+. Matt Corsetti and Lori McBride will call the action from Leede Arena.
OPENING TIPS
• The Lions are tied for first place in the Ivy League standings and own the head-to-head tiebreaker vs. Princeton for the No. 1 seed. Columbia completed a regular-season sweep of the Tigers with a 70-56 win last Friday night at Levien Gymnasium, outscoring Princeton 45-25 in the second half. The next night, they exacted a bit of revenge against Penn, downing the Quakers, 69-56, for a weekend sweep.
• Columbia is receiving a vote in this week's AP Top 25. It's the first time the Lions have received votes since the Week 1 poll (Nov. 10).
• Riley Weiss was named both the Ivy League and Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Player of the Week following her performances against Princeton and Penn last weekend. She earned the Ivy League nod for a league-leading fifth time this season. The junior from Long Island averaged 22.0 points and shot 47 percent from the floor across both games, including 41 percent (7-17) from 3-point land. The Associated Press voted Weiss a National Player of the Week Honorable Mention.
• Weiss leads the Ivy League and ranks top 25 in the NCAA in points per game (19.7). She also ranks among the top 25 in the nation in 3-pointers made per game (2.87) and top 50 in total threes (66).
• Perri Page is one of three players in the NCAA to average at least 14.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 steals and shoot 50% or better from the field. The other two players are UConn's reigning All-American Sarah Strong and Abilene Christian's Meredith Mayes. Nationally, Page ranks top 40 in FG% (54.0%).
• Columbia leads the Ivy League in scoring margin (+11.2), assists per game (16.9) and steals per game (12.3). The Lions rank No. 14 in the NCAA in steals and top 35 in assists.
IVY MADNESS SCENARIOS
• Columbia's magic number is one to clinch a berth to Ivy Madness for the sixth straight season. The Lions lead fifth-place Penn by four games with four games remaining.
• The Ivy League Tournament began in 2017. The Lions clinched a berth into the tournament for the first time in 2020, but that year's event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• The Lions are currently tied with Princeton at 8-2 atop the Ivy League standings. For seeding purposes, Columbia owns the head-to-head tiebreaker against Princeton by virtue of sweeping the regular-season series.
• Brown (7-3 Ivy) and Harvard (7-3 Ivy) are tied for third in the standings. Both the Bears and Crimson can also clinch their spots at Ivy Madness with wins on Saturday, but only if Penn loses to Yale.
THE DAWG REPORT
• Notes in this section come from data captured by Columbia's Data & Analytics Department. They affectionately refer to their data team as "Data & Analytics With Grit".
• In games where Columbia's press defense allows less than 0.88 points per possession, the Lions have a 92 percent winning percentage, including wins against Princeton & Seton Hall.
• Across all Ivy League games among all Ivy League teams, there have been 14 games where one team grabbed at least 60 percent of all available rebounds. Columbia now owns five of those games, including the top two highest rebound percentage games, after grabbing 63.2 percent of rebounds against Princeton on Friday.
OVERCOMING THE 3-BALL

• Perri Page (25) and Riley Weiss (23) each scored 20+ points, marking the first time the Lions had two players score 20+ since Weiss (26) and Kitty Henderson (22) did it in an 80-71 win at Harvard on Jan. 31, 2025.
• Page posted her second 20-10 game of the season, the other coming in a 58-55 win at Harvard on January 10.
HALFTIME WINNING STREAK
