
Indoor Track & Field Set for Ivy League Indoor Heps

Lions will host Heps at the Armory on Saturday and Sunday
NEW YORK – The Columbia track & field team has officially concluded its 2026 indoor regular season, and is ready for the 2026 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The Lions will be hosting Heps this year at the Armory. The competition will take place throughout the entire day on both Saturday and Sunday at the Amory, beginning with the men's weight throw and long jump at 10 a.m.

LAST YEAR'S HEPS
The Columbia indoor track and field team finished the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships in style. The Lions captured 14 medals with the men's and women's 4x800 relay teams both capturing silver.
In the final standings, the men finished seventh with 33 points; the women in eighth with 24. Princeton won the men's and women's championship with 189.5 points and 168 points, respectively.
Rory Clare took home bronze in the mile.
In the middle distances, Haydn Brotschi captured fourth in the men's 400m, and Jacob Van Orden finished fifth in the men's 800m.
LAST TIME OUT
Columbia's men finished in the fast lane at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The Lions topped the program record in the 4x400 relay, as the quartet of sophomore Caden Cutchall , junior Zach Willen, senior Matthew Mazero, and Brotschi finished second in 3:10.06.
Brotschi placed third in the 400m with a personal-best 46.51. Senior Max Comfere captured the 200m title in a personal-best 21.70.
Columbia dominated the 800m at the Yale Giegengack Invitational,, led by sophomore Isabella Shertzer, who won the event in 2:14.35. Sophomore Annie Killian placed fourth in 2:15.87, sophomore Scarlett Martin took sixth in a personal-best 2:18.25, and sophomore Caroline Adams placed eighth in a personal-best 2:19.93.
Brotschi once again led the Lions at the Harvard Crimson Open by winning the 200m in a personal-best 21.49.
UP NEXT
After the conclusion of Indoor Heps, any Lions who qualify will compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships which are set for Friday, March 13 in Arkansas.
