NEW YORK – Columbia women's basketball guard Riley Weiss (Hewlett, N.Y.) has been named Ivy League Player of the Week for games played February 2-8. Weiss owns a league-best four selections this season.
The junior from Long Island scored 38 points in Saturday's 80-55 victory at Cornell. She was 13-for-20 from the field, including 9-of-12 from 3-point range, and hit 3-of-5 at the charity stripe. At one point, Weiss connected on seven consecutive 3-point attempts, spanning from the 5-minute mark of the second quarter through the opening three minutes of the fourth quarter. Her nine makes from long range tied the program record, which she also tied just two weeks ago in her record-breaking 40-point game against Dartmouth.
Weiss and Iowa State's Audi Crooks are the only two players in the NCAA to score 38+ points in multiple games this season.

Columbia (15-6, 6-2 Ivy) now prepares for an Ivy League home back-to-back this weekend. The Lions will look for a season sweep over No. 24 Princeton (19-2, 7-1 Ivy) on Friday at 6 p.m., and then look for revenge against Penn (13-8, 3-5 Ivy) on Saturday at 5 p.m. Friday's game against the Tigers will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
