NEW YORK — Columbia baseball head coach Brett Boretti has announced that senior pitcher Evan Kleinhans has been appointed as a team captain by the coaching staff earlier this week. Kleinhans joins classmates Cole Fellows, Jack Kail and Thomas Santana, who were selected by a team vote prior to the season.
The native of Berkeley, California, is second in the Ivy League with nine appearances in 2026. He has 14 strikeouts in 14 innings of work, picking up a win over Kansas State after two innings of relief against the Wildcats. For his career, Kleinhans has appeared in 27 career games out of the bullpen.
