Kulkarni Earns Runner-Up at Princeton Invitational

First year shoots final-round 69 on Sunday
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia men's golf first year Neil Kulkarni earned the second runner-up finish of his rookie season, posting a tournament total of even-par 213 at the Princeton Invitational. The final round of the two-day, 54-hole event was contested on Sunday at Springdale Golf Club.
Kulkarni carded five birdies, one bogey and one double bogey for a final-round 2-under-par 69. Beginning the day in a tie for seventh, he got into red numbers with a birdie on his third hole, the par-5 12th. After a bogey at 14, Kulkarni finished off a 1-under 35 on his opening side with a birdie at the par-4 18th. A double at the 452-yard third put him back to 1-over on the day, but he closed strong. Kulkarni sank a bounce-back birdie at the fourth and then drained back-to-back birdies at the short par-4 sixth and 180-yard, par-3 seventh.
Kulkarni finished in a two-way tie for second with Harvard's William Ma. He posted two straight rounds of 1-over 72 to begin the tournament on Saturday.
Columbia finished in eighth place as a team at 32 over par. They moved up on Sunday with their best team round of the tournament of 5 over. Along with Kulkarni's 69, Alejandro Formosa carded a 72, Ryan Keyes shot a 73 and George Rubelsky shot a 75. Formosa earned a top-25 finish in the 75-man field at 6 over par for the tournament.
The Lions host the Roar-EE Invitational this coming Saturday, April 18, at Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, New York. The single-day event will serve as Columbia's final tuneup ahead of the 2026 Ivy League Championship (April 24-26).
