Born Jarom Whitlock Miller on September 27, 1999 in Provo, Utah … Son of Bret and Evlyn Miller … One of seven brothers and sisters: Everet, Bryn, Jaxon, Sade, Jensen, and Tyce … Both of his parents attended BYU … Brother Everet played rugby at BYU … Grandfather Clark Miller played rugby at BYU from 1967-69 … Has competed in various triathlons … Served as lead in several school musicals … Hobbies and interests include swimming, spikeball, running, hiking, reading, performing arts, and hanging out with family and friends … Person in history he would most like to meet: Louis Pasteur … Served the last two years (2018 and 2019) on a church service mission in Cambodia … Fluent in Khmer … Originally committed to Dartmouth but changed his mind after a friend spoke about how amazing Columbia was … Was sent home early on his mission after serving 21 of 24 months and was able to change his decision … Chose Columbia in order to receive a world-class education in New York City and because it would prepare him for medical school with the well-rounded Core Curriculum … Selected Columbia over football offers from Dartmouth, Brown, and Johns Hopkins and academic scholarships from BYU and Utah … Has a career goal of attending medical school in hopes of becoming a surgeon … Enrolled in the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and intends to major in Biomedical Engineering.
