Millie Carpenter

Millie Carpenter joined the Columbia Track & Field staff in October 2025 as an assistant coach.

Carpenter brings a strong track & field background to Morningside Heights, having worked extensively with athletes of all levels in Oregon. She served as a track & field camp coach at Western Oregon University, where she helped organize and lead instruction in the javelin, hurdles, and hammer throw. Since 2018, she has also coached youth and middle school athletes in throws, hurdles, and jumps across the Eugene area, helping develop fundamental skills and a passion for the sport.

A standout thrower herself, Carpenter was a six-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference scorer at Western Oregon, competing in the hammer, weight, and javelin throws. She ranks ninth all-time at WOU in the women’s weight throw and was the recipient of the program’s Inspirational Award in 2024. A native of Elmira, Oregon, she earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in communication studies and exercise science in 2023 and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in organizational leadership at Western Oregon University.
