Anthony Lorenzo was hired as Columbia men's basketball's Director of Strategy, Video & Analytics in June 2026.

Lorenzo spent the 2025-26 season at Campbell as an assistant coach. He helped lead the Camels to one of the most successful seasons in program history, as Campbell won its first CAA Tournament game and made its first trip to the conference semifinals.

Overseeing the development of the guards, Lorenzo coached DJ Smith and Jeremiah Johnson to First and Third Team All-Conference awards, respectively.

Lorenzo’s previous coaching stints include UC Riverside, Utah State, Washington State, and San Francisco, where he worked with Coach Hovde.

In his lone season at Riverside, Lorenzo helped the Highlanders to their first-ever NIT appearance for the program. Lorenzo worked with Barrington Hargress, who earned First Team All-Big West honors, and Isaiah Moses, an All-Conference honorable mention.

Prior to Riverside, Lorenzo spent a season as Director of Basketball Analytics at Utah State. There, he helped the Aggies to a 28-7 record, a Mountain West regular season championship and an NCAA Tournament berth, advancing to the Round of 32. The No. 8 seed Aggies defeated No. 9 seed TCU, 88-72, in the first round.

Lorenzo spent four seasons as Washington State’s coordinator of operations, first joining the staff as a graduate manager overseeing operations in 2019-20. In 2022, WSU advanced to an NIT semifinal in the tournament’s last year in NYC.

Before his time at WSU, Lorenzo spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. He arrived at ART U following a year as video coordinator across town at the University of San Francisco in 2016-17, where he first worked with Hovde, who was then an assistant coach with the Dons.

Prior to working at USF, Lorenzo spent two years coaching NCAA Division III men’s basketball with stays at Centenary University (NJ) and Rutgers University-Newark.

While growing up in Piscataway, New Jersey, Lorenzo was a two-sport athlete, competing in both basketball and football at St. Thomas Aquinas. After graduating, he headed to Rutgers University-New Brunswick and spent two years as the head student manager for the women’s basketball team under Hall of Fame coach C. Vivian Stringer. Also while in college, Lorenzo spent time as a coach for the Hoop Group and the NJ Panthers and graduated with a degree in exercise science in 2014. He later earned his MBA at Washington State in 2021
