Dartmouth Hands Men's Soccer 1-0 Loss

HANOVER, N.H. - A goal by Mike Ordonez in the 57th minute proved to be the only scoring of the match as the Big Green defeated Columbia 1-0 in the Lions' first match in more than two weeks.

In a match highlighted by outstanding goalkeeping throughout the match, Columbia keeper Michael Testa (Manhasset Hills, N.Y.) and Dartmouth netminder Sean Milligan each made three saves during the first half, keeping the match scoreless as the teams went into intermission.

With 33:09 left in the second half, Ordonez pounced on a loose ball and fired one past Testa to give Dartmouth a 1-0 advantage.

The Lions forced Milligan to make four saves during the second half to preserve the lead, as Ajene Green (Elmont, N.Y.) put three shots on goal during the match with constant pressure being put on each goalkeeper during the contest.

Columbia is now 3-9 overall and 0-3 in the Ivy League while Dartmouth improves to 7-2-4 and 3-1 in the Ancient Eight.

The Lions return home to Columbia Soccer Stadium on Saturday, October 29 in a 2:30 matchup with Yale.
