Although they didn't capture the top spot, Columbia's archers seized the next eight to dominate the season's first Mail-In Shoot.
The monthly Mail-In Shoots are national “tournaments” in which each school holds an intrasquad shoot under full match conditions. The scores are then mailed to a central location, where they are compiled and listed as if they were part of a single tournament.
Kendra Harvey, representing the New Mexico Roadrunners, won the Female Recurve competition with a score of 283. She was followed closely by Goshorn, who shot a 280, and senior Kate Krieger, who had a 278. Senior All-American Stephanie Miller placed fourth with a score of 265.
Rounding out the Columbia shooters were first-year Stephanie Botica (5th, 250); sophomore Emma Gillespie (6th, 249); junior Robin Liang (7th, 244); sophomore Sara Mancini (8th, 240); and junior Christina Hsieh (9th, 232).
Sophomore Amanda McDermott won the Female Compound division with a score of 280.
Columbia next competes in the January Mail-In Shoot on Saturday January 27 in Barnard's newly-renovated LeFrak Gymnasium. The shoot begins at 11 a.m.
