CAMBRIDGE, MASS. ? The Columbia women's tennis team gave Harvard all they could handle before falling 4-3. The Lions picked up an 8-3 win at third doubles, but lost the doubles point on losses at No. 1 and No. 2, 8-2, 8-1 respectively.
First-year Stephanie Zilberman gave the Lions their first win at No. 2 singles, defeating Laura Pterzan 6-4, 6-1, while Beier Ko defeated Nina Suda at No. 1, 6-0, 6-3. Lauren Shearer battled out a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5 and Natalia Christenson won in a super tie-breaker 4-6, 6-4 (11-9) because the match was already decided once Stephanie Schnitter and Samantha Rosekrans won at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively.
