
Columbia Basketball Legend Lou Bender Passes Away at 99

Lou Bender, a Columbia All-American and 1932 graduate who was elected to the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame last year, passed away at his home in Florida on Thursday, September 10.
Bender helped make basketball popular in New York during the Great Depression, leading the Columbia teams of the early 1930s to consecutive Eastern Intercollegiate League titles.
