BALTIMORE, Md. - Several members of the Columbia University
fencing team excelled at the Junior Olympic Fencing Championships last weekend.
Highlighting the weekend was Adam Mathieu's bronze medal
finish in the men's foil event, while Brian Ro finished seventh in the men's epee.
First-years Margaret Lu and Jackie Dubrovich fenced their
way to land two of three spots for the Junior World Championships which will
take place in April.
In addition, Geoffrey Loss continued a successful season
with yet another top-32 finish, this time in Budapest. Seven hundred points
ahead of the next fencers, Loss earned placed fourth, falling just shy of qualification
for the Junior Men's Sabre World Team.
