NEW YORK – The Columbia men's basketball team unveiled its new uniforms last week for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
The Lions will be wearing the Nike Elite Enforcer line and will stick to their tradition home white and Columbia blue sets. There will be an incorporation of Navy blue on the shoulder insets and and striping on the white uniforms and on the collar and waistband of the blue ensemble.
For all of its 31 varsity sports during the 2016-17 season, Columbia will wear a No. 67 patch on its uniform in honor of former Lions' football player, coach, confidante and friend Bill Campbell, who passed away in April of 2016. The athletics program officially retired uniform number 67– the number Campbell wore as an offensive lineman and linebacker for the 1961 Ivy League Championship football team - for all 31 of Columbia's varsity teams in the fall of 2014.
The Lions are one month away from tipping off their season when they travel to Stony Brook on Friday, November 11. Columbia's home opener is slated for Wednesday, November 23 in Levien Gymnasium.
