THE STORYLINES
COLUMBIA'S STATUS
The Lions were swept in a four-game series at Pepperdine from Mar. 12-14. Columbia is in the midst of a 10-game West Coast trip for spring break.
SAN DIEGO'S STATUS
The Toreros have won five of their last seven and a split with Baylor. San Diego will open up its West Coast Conference title defense this weekend against Saint Mary's after its series with the Lions.
Riley Adams boasts a .426 batting average to go with two homers and 15 RBI. Kevin Collard has three dingers and 13 RBI, but is hitting just .170
INSIDE THE SERIES
Columbia is 1-6 against San Diego all-time. The Lions last trip out to Fowler Park saw them win one game of a four-game series.
COLUMBIA VS. THE WEST COAST CONFERENCE
The Lions are 1-18 all-time against teams currently in the WCC. Columbia's only victory came at San Diego on Mar. 16, 2012, a 6-2 win over the No. 20 Toreros.
