HANOVER, N.H. — It took four overtimes, a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the third overtime and a half-court heave that nearly extended the game to a fifth overtime for the Columbia women's basketball team to earn its first Ivy League victory of the season, 91-88, over Dartmouth on Friday night at Leede Arena. The game ties for the longest in Ivy League women's basketball history.

Down four with 10 seconds remaining in the third overtime, Columbia senior Tori Oliver hit two free throws and the Lions fouled Dartmouth's Emily Slagle. Slagle hit 1 of 2 to make it a 3-point game and give the Lions one last chance. Sophomore Emily Surloff took advantage by sinking a 3-ball from the left wing to tie the game with under one second to go.

Columbia (11-5, 1-2 Ivy) took the momentum into the fourth extra period, scoring the first four points and never trailing. Still, Dartmouth (5-11, 0-3 Ivy) had one last chance to tie the game, but a prayer from beyond half-court was not answered.

“We came together and won this game as a team, which I'm really proud of,” said first-year head coach Megan Griffith, who earned her first Ivy League victory. “There were some big performances, but everybody did a little bit to get us to where we needed to be at the end. I'm so proud of this team.”

Junior Camille Zimmerman scored a career-high 37 points and grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds for the Lions. Senior Devon Roeper was a perfect 9-for-9 from the field to score a season-high 18 points, adding a career-high 11 rebounds. Senior Tori Oliver scored 11 points to go with nine boards and a team-high four assists.

Columbia outrebounded Dartmouth, 55-47. It included 20 offensive rebounds, leading the Lions to a 25-9 advantage in second-chance points.

Columbia led for more than 44 minutes. Zimmerman's 3-point play with 6:37 to go in regulation gave the Lions a 10-point lead, but it did not hold up as Dartmouth tied the score with a minute remaining. The two sides headed to overtime tied at 57.

“I had a big heart-to-heart with this team after the Cornell loss (last Saturday),” Griffith added. “I think they realize that me and the coaching staff are here for them – nobody is going anywhere. This is a huge step and I'm so proud of them.”

Surloff and sophomore Paulina Koerner each hit from long range to give the Lions a six-point lead in the opening minute of the first overtime period. Columbia never trailed in either of the first two overtimes.

Dartmouth's Fanni Szabo tied the game with 38 seconds to go in the first overtime and nine seconds to go in the second overtime. Szabo scored a team-high 31 points, ahead of the 23 from Isalys Quinones and the 14 from Kate Letkewicz.

The third overtime was the only extra frame Columbia trailed in. After Roeper gave the Lions the initial lead, Dartmouth went on a 6-0 run with the help of two buckets by Letkewicz to go on top by four. It remained a four-point game with 10 seconds to play, when Oliver's free throws and Surloff's 3-pointer forced the fourth overtime.

Neither team scored in the final overtime period until Zimmerman hit two free throws with 2:40 remaining. Roeper extended it to a four-point lead with less than two minutes to go. The Lions remained in front by as many until Szabo scored with 12 seconds left to make it a two-point game.

Junior Alexa Giuliano was fouled with 10 seconds left and hit 1 of 2 at the line to push the Columbia lead to three. Both sides then missed free throws and Dartmouth got off one last heave that rattled in and out to end the game.

The Lions complete their Ivy League weekend at first-place Harvard (15-1, 3-0 Ivy) on Saturday. Tip is set for 6 p.m. from Lavietes Pavilion in Cambridge, Mass.

Postgame Notes:

- The game ties for the longest in Columbia women's basketball and Ivy League women's basketball history. The Lions defeated Penn in four overtimes, 114-111, on March 5, 1988.

- Head coach Megan Griffith earned her first Ivy League win.

- Camille Zimmerman scored a career-high 37 points and tied her career-highs of 19 rebounds, 12 made free throws and four steals.

- Zimmerman's 37 points were two shy of the program record of 39, set by Ellen Bossert in 1986. Tori Oliver scored 38 in a game at Wagner in December of 2014.

- Zimmerman's 37 shot attempts set a new Columbia women's basketball record, beating the previous mark by 10 attempts.

- Devon Roeper scored a season-high 18 points and pulled in a career-high 11 rebounds.

- Zimmerman (58), Paulina Koerner (53), Devon Roeper (45) and Emily Surloff (40) all hit career-highs in minutes played.

- Zimmerman (37 points, 19 rebounds) and Roeper (18 points, 11 rebounds) each had a double-double, marking the first time two Lions had a double-double in the same game since January 3, 2016 against Central Penn.

- Columbia snapped an 11-game Ivy League losing streak, which dated back to a 77-71 victory last February 5 at Yale.
