NEW YORK – The Columbia women's basketball team (2-3) begins a three-game road trip when it travels north to renew an in-state rivalry with Colgate (1-3) on Sunday. Tip is set for 2 p.m. at Cotterell Court with the game airing live on the Patriot League Network.
OPENING TIPS
• The Lions are 2-0 against in-state non-conference opponents this season and 9-3 against such opponents since the beginning of the 2015-16 season. Columbia began the year with wins over Hofstra and Army West Point.
• First-year Mikayla Markham became the first Lion in 10 seasons to have 10 assists in a game on Wednesday against Houston. Markham is one of five NCAA freshmen this year to go for 10 assists in one of her first five collegiate games and one of only two to do so against a Div. I opponent. She leads the Ivy League in total assists (24) and assists per game (4.8) – both marks rank top-100 in the NCAA.
• Columbia leads the Ivy League in field goal percentage (.420) and 3-point field goal percentage (.323). Sophomore Riley Casey leads the league individually in 3-point percentage (.458), hitting 11-of-24 attempts heading into Sunday. First-year Sienna Durr ranks No. 3 in field goal percentage (.531).
• First-year Madison Hardy scored 17 points off the bench on Wednesday, which is the most by a Lion off the bench since Devon Roeper scored 18 in a quadruple overtime victory at Dartmouth on Jan. 27, 2017.
• Columbia has taken 30-plus 3-point attempts in each of its last two games. The Lions were 13-of-31 on Wednesday (.419), recording their most made threes since going 15-of-33 against Brown in 2011.

• Columbia's first-year class has provided 52 percent of the team's points, 48 percent of its rebounds and 60 percent of its assists this season.
• Sienna Durr leads Columbia in scoring (14.0 ppg) and ranks No. 5 in the Ivy League. She is the reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Week.

SCOUTING COLGATE
• Colgate (1-3) picked up its first win of the season in Wednesday's home opener, 67-53, over Canisius. The Raiders led 39-30 at halftime and outscored to Golden Griffins 18-7 in the third quarter before stretching the lead to 26 points, 65-39, with five minutes to go. Summer King (15), Rachel Thompson (11) and Haley Greer (11) all scored in double figures. Thompson is one of two Raiders averaging double figures on the season, entering Sunday at 10.3 points per game along with a team-best 8.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Tegan Graham heads the scoring with 10.5 per contest. Colgate leads the Patriot League and rank No. 5 in the NCAA in 3-point defense (.167). They also top the Patriot League with at 14.0 assists per game.
• Sunday will mark the 10th all-time meeting between the two teams. Columbia leads the series, 5-4, including a 75-67 victory over the Raiders the last time they met on Nov. 27, 2016 in New York. The Lions used a late 14-0 fourth-quarter run to take the lead and earn the victory.
IN RARE COMPANY
• First-year Mikayla Markham registered 10 assists on Wednesday against Houston. In doing so, Markham became the first Lion since February of 2009 to record 10 assists in a game, when Danielle Brown dished out 11 in an 88-57 victory over Brown. Markham's 10-assist performance came in just her fifth collegiate game. She is one of five freshmen in the NCAA this season to have 10 assists in one of her first five collegiate games. The other four all did it in their first game, but only one of the other four, Laura Piera of Grand Canyon, did it against a Div. I opponent. Piera had 14 assists on Nov. 9 against Incarnate Word. Markham's 10 assists were also two shy of Columbia's single-game record, accomplished twice by Charlene Schuessler '90BC, who was just inducted into the Columbia Athletics Hall of Fame in October.
DURR LANDS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS
• First-year Sienna Durr was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday. Durr averaged 15.7 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 57.6 percent from the field through three games. She made her home debut in style, scoring a season-high 21 points on 10-of-17 shooting to lead the Lions to a, 70-49, victory over Army West Point. She added seven rebounds in that performance and filled up the stat sheet with an assist, block and steal. The Iowa native scored 17 points on Friday at Milwaukee to become the first Lion to start a career with three straight games in double figures since all-time leading scorer Camille Zimmerman.
