NEW YORK – After a 1-1 start during the first weekend of play, the Columbia men's soccer team is back in action Friday at Army, before hosting Binghamton in the home opener on Monday.

THUS FAR
After hitting the road to Kentucky and No. 11 Butler on the first weekend of action, Columbia is off to a 1-1 start.

It took a 66-minute delay before the Lions and Wildcats were able to finally start the season last Friday night. When the weather cleared up, it would be Kentucky who was able to get on the board once and leave Columbia scoreless in the season opener.

Two days later at No. 11 Butler, John Denis provided a second half equalizer for Columbia's first goal of the season, forcing overtime against the Bulldogs. In the second overtime frame, Kynan Rocks drew a penalty kick, which Francisco Agrest sent home for the game-winner.

ABOUT THE BLACK KNIGHTS | FRIDAY, 5:00 PM
Army opened the season with a pair of losses but found redemption in its last outing, defeating San Diego State, 2-1.

Keenan O'Shea has lit up the scoring column, tallying three goals in the first three matches. Christian Takaki has the only other goal for Army this year, while Ibrahim Seye has the only assist on the team. In net, Justin Stoll has allowed five goals through three contests with six saves.

ABOUT THE BEARCATS | MONDAY, 7:30 PM
Monday's opponent has yet to find the win column in 2018, but has a chance to do so prior to the match at Columbia when Binghamton travels to Lehigh on Friday night.

The Bearcats opened the year with a 3-2 loss at Drexel, before losing to Iona (1-0) and Cornell (2-0), and posting a scoreless draw at Monmouth. Connor McKnight and Haris Brkovic have scored one goal each this year, while Chris Shutler has started every match in goal, saving 23 shots and allowing six scores.
