PHILADELPHIA-Columbia Fencing competed today in the Philadelphia Invite against Notre Dame, Ohio State, Temple and Northwestern.  The women came out on top winning three of their four matchups for the day. On the men's side of the competition, the Lions finished with a 1-1 record, claiming victory against Ohio State, and falling to the defending national champion Notre Dame. 
 
Today was the second straight day of dual meets for the Columbia squads, as they faced fierce competition Saturday at the St. John's Super Cup. Yesterday, the Lions fell to Ohio State in women's competition and came through today winning 19-8, while the men found repeat success claiming a 18-9 record over the Buckeyes. 
 
The Lions now will prep for the Ivy league Championships, which will take place on February 9-10 in New Haven, Conn.
