No. 24 Lion Women Finish Fifth, Men Finish 17th At The Princeton Invite

Sophomore Sofia Camacho gave the Lions their best finish on the day, coming in eighth overall for her second top 10 finish this season.
PRINCETON, N.J. – Another top finish from sophomore Sofia Camacho set the pace for the No. 24 Columbia Cross Country women, as the Lion women finished fifth overall in the 6K, while the men finished 17th overall in the 8K on Saturday morning, at the Princeton Invitational which was competed on West Windsor Fields.
HOW THE WOMEN FINISHED: Camacho, who was fresh off a first-place finish at the Mets in a 5K race, finished in eighth place crossing the line with a time of 21:32.3 in the first 6K race of her collegiate career to set the tone on the day for the Lions. Sophomore Linnaea Kavulich ran a personal best time of 21:45.6 to finish 12th overall, giving Columbia a pair of top 15 finishers on the day.
Junior Serena Tripodi's time of 22:17.0 placed her 27th overall and first-year Angela Saidman, who finished 37th with a time 22:27.2, ran a solid race as well to round out the top 40 finishers for Columbia. When factoring in senior Emily Digman's 51st-place finish, with a time of 22:43.9, Columbia slotted in at fifth place overall in the team finishes.
HOW THE MEN FINISHED: First-year Lucas Aramburu's time of 25:02.3, which was good enough for a 41st place finish, gave the Lions their best finish on the men's side. Junior Aaron Breene, who crossed the line with a time of 25:11.0 (54th), was the next finisher for Columbia as the Lions would finish the 8K in 17th place overall.
