EYES ON THREE: The Lion women come in looking for their third straight Heps title, having won the 2017 and 2018 titles, and this would be the second title out of the three to be won at VCP. A win by the Lions would give them their seventh title overall and it would be the longest consecutive title streak in the league since Princeton won five straight from 2006-10.
Senior Katie Wasserman and junior Allie Hays have led the Lions throughout the season, recording a first (Wasserman) and second place (Hays) finish at the Iona Meet of Champions (Sept. 20), a second (Hays) and sixth place (Wasserman) finish at the Roy Griak (Sept. 28) and a 21st (Wasserman) and 27th place (Hays) finish at the Nuttycombe Invite (Oct. 18). As a team, the Lions won the Iona Meet of Champions, came in second at the Roy Griak, Paul Short Run (Oct. 5) and third at the Mets (Oct. 11) and they had an impressive showing at the Nuttycombe, coming in 17th overall.
VASBINDER LEADS THE MEN: Senior Kenny Vasbinder has had himself a solid year and he has been the leader for the men throughout the season. He just missed taking the Iona Meet, finishing second, but he bounced back with a vengeance, taking first at the Roy Griak. In his final race leading up to Heps, Vasbinder finished a strong 32nd at the Nuttycombe Invite and he enters the Heps looking to snag his first individual title as his best finish was fifth at the 2017 Heps.
