NATIONAL BOUND: Following their fourth place finish at the Northeast Regionals, and a strong season which saw the Lion women finish ahead of several programs bound for Terre Haute at a handful of events, the Lion women earned an at-large bid and will head to the national championships carrying a No. 28 national ranking. This is the third straight year that the Lion women will compete at the National Championships, with the Lions finishing 28th overall in 2017 and 18th overall in 2018 for end the 2018 season ranked No. 18 in the nation.
At the regionals, the Lions had a pair of top 10 finishes, with senior Katie Wasserman (sixth) and junior Allie Hays (ninth) earning All-Region honors following their strong performance where they both finished with personal best times. Last season, both Wasserman and Hays raced at the Nationals, with Hays finishing 101st and Wasserman coming 120th.
BRONX BOUND: While a handful of the Lion women compete at nationals, the other portion of the Lion women, along with the Lion men, will compete at the ECAC/IC4A Championships, which are hosted at the friendly confines of Van Cortlandt Park. The last time the Lions ran at Van Cortlandt Park, things went rather well, with the women taking the Ivy League Heps team title and senior Kenny Vasbinder taking the men's individual title.
This is the sixth straight season that the Lions will compete at the ECAC/IC4A Championships and it's the fourth race the Lions will run at VCP this season.
