LA QUINTA, Calif.—First-year Daniel Core shot a career-low six-under-par 66 and carded an eagle on the final hole to lead Columbia to a 24-stroke dual match victory over Menlo College Friday at the PGA West Dunes Course. The matchup is part of Columbia's annual Spring Break trip to Palm Springs, Calif.
Columbia shot a one-over-par 289 to defeat Menlo (25-over-par, 313) by 24 strokes. The PGA West Dunes Course plays to a par-72 and is 6,712 yards.

Led by Core, Columbia placed eight golfers among the matchup's top nine individuals. Junior Nick Brisebois, sophomore Arjun Puri, sophomore John Robertson and sophomore Dan Terrell all shot a two-over-par 74.
First-year Derek Kim, fresh off his victory at the Grand Canyon University Invitational, placed seventh with a three-over-par 75. He was followed by junior Cullen Chung and first-year Pat Healy, who both placed eighth at four-over-par 76.
Other Columbia golfers included Youn Sung Kim, who placed 14th with a 12-over-par 84 and senior Sunny Yan, who finished 16th at 13-over-par 85.
Menlo College's Jayrick Cadelina-Canyete topped the hosts with a two-over-par 74.
