COLUMBIA'S PROBABLE EIWA LINEUP
YOUTHFUL LINEUP
Five of Columbia's 10 wrestlers in its lineup are first-years including
Joe Manchio (125),
Matt Kazimir (133),
Danny Fongaro (141),
Cole Corrigan (149) and
Sam Wustefeld (197). Nine of Columbia's top-10 wrestlers return to the team next year. That bodes extremely well for the success of Columbia's program.
LIONS TIE SCHOOL RECORD FOR MOST NCAA DIVISION I DUAL WINS IN SEASON
With its two victories over Bucknell and Bloomsburg on Feb. 23, Columbia tied a school-record for most NCAA Division I wins in a season and most NCAA Division I wins since 1980-81. Columbia's 10 NCAA Division I dual match wins ties the most NCAA Division I victories in a season since 1980-81: 10 NCAA Division I wins in 1980-81 and 10 wins in 2018-19.
10 DUAL MATCHES
Columbia is one of three EIWA teams who have won 10 or more dual matches this season: Cornell (13), Columbia (10) and Binghamton (10).
EIWA AWARDS
Beyond the team and individual titles, awards will be presented for outstanding wrestler, most career points, and best pinner; the coaches will choose the top coach and the referees will honor the most sportsmanlike team.
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION
The EIWA tournament holds 47 automatic qualifying bids for the NCAA Championships to be held in Pittsburgh from March 21-23. Wrestlers not receiving those bids hope to receive the at-large selections to be extended next week.
