NEW YORK – The Columbia women's lacrosse team will officially begin its 2020 campaign this Saturday, Feb. 15, hosting the Army Black Knights at 1 p.m. ET at Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium.

Despite the departure of six seniors from the 2019 squad, Columbia returns 63 percent of its scoring from a season ago including the program's leading scorer in back-to-back seasons, now-junior attacker
Alexandria Absey. Absey led the Lions with 30 goals last season to earn honorable mention All-Ivy League recognition, while returners
Chelsea Witteck and
Rachel Graff also recorded double-digit goals in 2019. Columbia also returns honorable mention All-Ivy defender
Alyssa Adamo. The Lions' 2020 roster additionally features a fresh and talented crop of nine first-year players.

SCOUTING ARMY
The Black Knights come into Wien Stadium with a 1-0 mark after taking down Marist, 16-4, in their home opener on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Sophomore Caroline Raymond led the group in their scoring efforts with six goals and two assists, Senior goalkeeper Maddie Burns played all 60 minutes in net, making seven saves in 21 shots faces.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

UP NEXT
The Lions will hit the road for back-to-back road games next week, traveling to face Fairfield on Wednesday at 3 p.m. before heading to play Siena on Saturday at noon.
