The Lions look to close out the 2021 campaign on a high note against the Tigers.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW...
COLUMBIA'S STATUS
The Lions will put a cap on the 2021 season when they visit No. xx Princeton on Saturday. Columbia dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker to Penn last Friday, but bounced back to pick up a 2-1 comeback win over Rider on the program's senior night. Maya Walker assisted on Kelsey Farkas' tying goal in the fourth quarter and won it with 41 seconds left off a corner. The victory over Rider was the first for the Lions when facing a deficit this season.
PRINCETON'S STATUS
The Tigers still have a shot of a share of the Ivy League title, needing a win against Columbia and a Harvard loss against Brown this weekend to split the championship. Last weekend, the Tigers picked up a 3-0 shutout over Brown. All but one of Princeton's losses have come to top-25 opponents this season.
Beth Yaegar paces the offense with 16 goals and six assists for 38 points. Ali McCarthy (7 G, 7 A) and Sammy Popper (8 G, 4 A) each have 20+ points. In goal, Isla Okkinga has emerged as the starter and is 4-2 with a 1.37 GAA and .757 save percentage with a shutout.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Columbia is 1-22 against Princeton in the schools' previous meetings. The Tigers claimed an 8-1 home win in 2019 and have won five-straight after the Lions' lone victory in 2014.
