
Volleyball Welcomes Dartmouth and Harvard on Friday and Saturday

Lions look to gain a game on Dartmouth in the standings
NEW YORK – Columbia volleyball (4-10, 1-4) is slated to host two Ivy League opponents this weekend, playing Dartmouth (10-5, 2-3) on Friday night before going up against Harvard (2-11, 1-4) on Saturday night. The Lions return home after a brief stint on the road where they went 1-1.
Last Friday, Columbia got back in the win column, defeating Penn 3-1. Saj McBurrows, Kiara Robichaud, and Logan Harlock recorded 13 kills each, lifting the Lions to their first conference victory of the season. Robichaud added 12 digs, completing the double-double. Ruby van der Heide had a career-high 16 digs to go along with 27 assists.
Columbia currently sits at fifth in the conference standings, one game behind Dartmouth. Harvard is right behind the Lions at sixth place. The Big Green and the Crimson played each other September 24. It was Dartmouth coming out on top, winning 3-1.
The Big Green have one of the conference's top attackers in Amelia Gibbs. The junior middle blckoer is first in the Ivy League in attaching percentage at .394. Dartmouth also has the leading blocker in the conference in Bomi Ogunlari who has 62. Harvard also brings a conference top-10 attacker and blocker to Levien this weekend. Katie Vorhees is fifth in the conference in total kills with 141 and Ariana White is tied for second in the conference in blocks with 59.
All three teams are strong at the net, ranking in the top-five in blocks in the conference. Columbia is third, averaging two blocks per set. Dartmouth is second and Harvard is fifth.
