DETROIT — Columbia Wrestling's run at the NCAA Wrestling National Championships came to an end when
Matt Kazimir and Joshua Ogunsnaya dropped their opening bouts of the second day at the National Championships, wrapping up their time at the Little Caesars Arena.

No. 11 Kazimir made his way into the second day with an tournament opening win at 141 pounds over No. 22 Shannon Hanna (CAMP- via decision 5-2. And No.14 Ogunsanya used a consolation first round victory over No. 30 Evan Barczak (DREX) SV-1 3-1 to move into the third session of the weekend.

But in the opening bout, in the consolation second round, Kazimir fell via decision, 6-1, to No. 21 Dylan Drogemueller (NDSU). It was close throughout, but late Drogemueller got position and scored back points at the end of the third period to score late in the bout. The loss ended Kazimir's run at the tournament.

In Ogunsanya's consolation second round match at 165 pounds, he faced Cornell's No. 13 Julian Ramirez. In the bout, Ogunsanya battled hard, but midway through the bout Ramirez began to score and would eventually work a 14-3 major decision to end Ogunsanya's weekend in Detroit.
