
Clare Finishes Second; Men Place Three Inside Top 15 At Stony Brook Invite

Both the Columbia women and men finished third overall.
STONY BROOK, N.Y. — In her first collegiate race, first-year Rory Clare finished second in the 4K, while the men posted three finishes inside the top 15 to power Columbia cross country at the Stony Brook Invite.
Columbia's women finished with 91 points and the Columbia men collected 73 points to give both squads third-place overall finishes respectively.
Clare clocked a time of 14:29.40 and she was joined inside the top 10 by Myla Abernathy who finished sixth with a time of 14:31.00. Columbia had two more women finish inside the top 30, with Kaitlynn Wolfe finishing 26th posting a time of 15:25.70 and in 30th Angela Saidman crossed the line at 15:29.60.
Justin O'Toole's 19:26.90 in the 6K led Columbia's men, with O'Toole's time putting him 11th overall as the best finisher for the Columbia men. Caleb Gartner (19:40.60), Walker Beverly (19:46.80) and Matt Gatune (19:48.70) all finished one right after the other, coming in at 14th, 15th and 16th respectively.
