Cross Country Compete at Nuttycombe Invite and ECAC/IC4A Championships

Ben Kuhn Wins Men's Open 8k at ECACs

NEW YORK — The cross country program had a busy Friday morning, with a portion of the women's team traveling to Madison, Wisconsin to compete at the Nuttycombe Invite, while the rest of the Lions stayed home to compete in the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park. 

The men running in the ECAC/IC4A Championships had the best finish of all the squads, placing fourth overall in the competition. The women would place 23rd at Van Cortlandt Park and 26th in Wisconsin. 

Additionally, competing in the men's open 8k in the Bronx, Ben Kuhn finished in first place with a time of 25:06.2. Gavin White was right behind him in second place with a time of 25:21.9. 

The top performer for the men at ECACs was Jacob Ireland who finished 10th in the 8k with a time of 24:12.9. Talha Syed took 14th place with a time of 24:20.00. 

The top performer for the women at Van Cortlandt Park was Lucy Henkel who clocked in with a time of 22:31.80 in the 6k which was good for 81st place. 

Meanwhile, out in Wisconsin, Phoebe Anderson led the way for the Lions with a 17th place finish in the 6k, clocking in at 20:16.5. Elia Ton-That finished 70th with a time of 20:53.90.

With the regular season now complete, the Lions will prepare for the Ivy League Championships which are set for October 28 in Boston.
