Columbia's Status
The Lions (3-10, 0-5) look to snap a five-game losing streak on Friday night. Columbia is coming off a 2-0 defeat at home to Brown last Sunday.
Mckenzie Bloom leads the team with five goals this season and is tied with
Lindsey Yu for the lead in points with 11.
Katie Wimmer is second among Ivy League goalkeepers with 73 saves this season.
Senior Night
The Lions will recognize seniors Kennedy Sholeen, Anabelle Brodeur, and Maya Walker before Friday's match.
Kennedy Sholeen
Sholeen has appeared in 44 games in her Columbia career, including 12 starts. She has tallied a career-high four points this season with a goal and two assists.
Anabelle Brodeur
Brodeur has appeared in 47 games in her Columbia career, including 40 starts. Brodeur has totaled six goals over the last three years and has tallied a goal and three assists this season. She enters Friday's match third on the team in shots on goal with 14.
Maya Walker
Walker has appeared in 46 games in her Columbia career, including 43 starts. Walker leads the team this season with 16 shots on goal and has also tallied two assists. The 2022 Ivy league Second Team and Second Team National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Mideast Region selection has scored eight goals over the last three years and has racked up 27 points as a Lion.
Yale's Status
Yale (5-8, 2-3) is coming off a 2-1 overtime win over Dartmouth last Sunday. The Bulldogs sit in fifth place in the Ivy League, trailing Princeton by a game for the final spot in the inaugural conference tournament next month.
Poppy Beales leads the team with seven goals and 14 points. Bulldogs starting goalkeeper Luanna Summer has started all 13 matches and has a 2.71 goals against average. Summer's 71 saves this season ranks fourth in the Ivy League.
Series History - Yale
Columbia is 6-19 all-time against Yale. The Lions earned a 2-1 victory on the road last season. Columbia has dropped the last two home contests with the Bulldogs.
