
Volleyball Concludes 2023 Season with Loss to Brown

Franklin tallies eight kills in her final match
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Columbia volleyball team concluded its 2023 season on Saturday evening with a conference match against Brown. The Bears defeated the Lions in straight sets (25-12, 25-15, 25-18) and advanced to the postseason riding a victory.
Brown took control of the match right away, scoring 18 of the first 21 points in the first set to take an 18-3 lead. The Bears would take a 1-0 lead, and ride that momentum into the second set which they would once again control from start to finish. Brown won the second set 25-15, and then went on to win the third set 25-18 to earn the sweep.
Soah Franklin led the Lions with eight kills in her final match. Harper Justema chipped in six kills. Yooni Park had a team-high 11 digs in her final game as a Lion. Seniors Lauren Maitland, Logan Harlock, and Maria Milisa combined for six total blocks, five kills, four digs, and an ace.
The Lions finish the 2023 season with a 3-20 overall record, and one Ivy League victory.
