NEW YORK – Columbia Women's Soccer Head Coach
Tracey Bartholomew has announced the program's 2023 schedule. The schedule features eight home contests, including back-to-back home games to start the season as Columbia hosts Hofstra on Friday, August 25 before welcoming Loyola Maryland to the Rocco B. Commissio Soccer Stadium on Sunday, August 27.
Following the opening weekend at home, the Lions will travel to California to face Santa Clara on August 31 and San Francisco on September 3.
Columbia will then make the short trip over to the Bronx to meet Fordham on September 7. The Lions return home for games against Farleigh Dickinson on September 10 and NJIT on September 13. Columbia closes out nonconference action on the road at Providence on September 16.
The Ivy League slate begins on September 23 as Columbia plays host to Penn. A week later, the Lions host Harvard on September 30 before hitting the road for the first time in conference action for an October 4 game at Cornell. Columbia will complete the road trip with an October 8 game at Dartmouth.
Columbia returns home for the final two games of the season on October 14 as the Lions host the defending Ivy League Champion, Brown. Columbia will then host Yale on October 21 in the final home game of the season. The Lions wrap up the regular season slate with an October 28 contest at Princeton.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top four teams in the Ivy League standings will be invited to participate in the first-annual Ivy League Tournament to decide the league's automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament. The tournament will be hosted by the top seed with the semi-finals being played on Friday, Nov. 3. The championship will be played on Sunday, Nov. 5.
The 2023 slate features games with five opponents that played in the 2022 NCAA Tournament – Hofstra, Brown, Harvard, Santa Clara and Farleigh Dickinson. Brown, Harvard and Santa Clara won their first-round matchups before falling in the second round of the tournament.
