NEW YORK – The Columbia women's soccer team (4-3-3, 2-0-0 Ivy) returns home to Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium Wednesday afternoon to host Cornell (2-5-4, 1-1-0 Ivy) for its annual Pride Game. First kick is set for 4:30 p.m.
Columbia enters Wednesday's contest on a three-game win streak after defeating Providence, Penn and Harvard by a combined score of 9-1 in the past three games. The Lions are off to their first 2-0 start in Ivy League play since 2018. Columbia currently sits atop the Ivy League standings with Princeton early on in league play.
The Columbia women's soccer team will celebrate its annual Pride Day at Wednesday's game. The first 100 fans will receive a Pride bracelet.

Columbia earned its first win over Harvard since 2007 with a goal scored by first-year
Angel Akanyirige in the 87
th minute of Saturday's contest. The win helped Columbia achieve a 2-0-0 start to Ivy League play after defeating Penn in the Ivy opener.
Marcia Ojo scored the first goal of the game as
Nata Ramirez was credited with assists on both goals in the win.
Ojo was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the win at Harvard. Ojo was a defender in Columbia's formation as contributed a goal and led the team in shots on goal with two. Ojo played 79 minutes and had a major role in limiting opportunities for the Harvard scoring attack as Columbia outshot Harvard, 12-8. Ramirez was named to the honor roll for her performance.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Cornell enters the matchup with a 2-5-4 overall record and a 1-1-0 mark in Ivy League action. The Big Red secured their first Ivy win at home Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Dartmouth. Sophomore forward Sydney Allen scored the lone goal of the game to lead Cornell to the win.
Laken Gallman leads Cornell in scoring with three goals and seven total points so far this season. Allen follows with two total goals. Four other Cornell players have scored a goal this season. Natalie Medugno has been a mainstay at the goalkeeper position for the Big Red with 710 total minutes this season. Medugno has tallied 28 saves while allowing 14 goals.
THE SERIES
Cornell leads the all-time series, 20-16-1. However, Columbia has won five of the last seven meetings between the teams. Columbia and Cornell played to a 1-1 draw last season in Ithaca.
