Women’s Basketball Travels to Face Dartmouth Friday, Harvard Sunday

Sunday’s game to be televised live on ESPNU

NEW YORK – The Columbia women's basketball team (16-5, 7-1 Ivy) plays five of its last six regular-season games on the road, beginning this weekend when it travels to Dartmouth (6-14, 0-8 Ivy) and Harvard (13-8, 6-2 Ivy). The Lions battle the Big Green on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a national TV appearance on ESPNU at Harvard on Sunday at 2 p.m.

RECORD WATCH
• With 1,962 career points, senior guard Abbey Hsu is 11 points from tying and 12 from breaking Camille Zimmerman's all-time program record. Zimmerman, a 2018 grad, is the program's current career leader in both points (1,979) and rebounds (940). Hsu is tied with Brown's Vita Redding (1995-99, 1,962 points), for fifth on the Ivy League's all-time scoring list. Zimmerman is fourth.

OPENING TIPS

• Hsu was named to the Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year Midseason Watch List on Tuesday. She was one of 30 players from around the country who made the midseason cut. On Wednesday, she was named one of 10 semifinalists for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. She is also a Top 10 candidate for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, recognizing the nation's top shooting guard. • Hsu was named Ivy League Player of the Week for a sixth time this season and 13th time in her career on Monday. Her season total and career total are each program records.
 
• Columbia has won 14 of its last 15 games heading into the weekend. The Lions tied a program record with 10 consecutive wins (Nov. 25 - Jan. 15) before falling at Princeton on Jan. 20. They have since won four straight, averaging 82.0 points per game on offense in those four games.
 
• Columbia enters the contest leading the Ivy League in 10 NCAA-ranked statistics, which includes scoring offense (77.6), scoring margin (+13.0), rebound margin (+7.2), rebounds per game (39.33), 3-pointers made per game (8.6), assists per game (17.9), bench points per game (21.8) and assist/turnover ratio (1.15).
 
• Columbia defeated Dartmouth and Harvard two weeks ago in New York. They hope to win their eighth straight against the Big Green and earn a regular season sweep against Harvard for the fourth consecutive season.

BROWN POSTGAME NOTES
• Hsu recorded her fourth game of 20+ points and 10+ rebounds this season.

• Hsu tallied her 40th career 20-point game and 100th career double-figure scoring game.

Perri Page had 10 rebounds, marking the second time this season a Lion at 10+ rebounds off the bench (Paige Lauder vs. Northeastern - Nov. 25).

• Columbia outrebounded Brown by 30 (54-24), its largest rebounding margin against an opponent since Jan. 14, 2023, when they outrebounded Harvard by 36 in an 82-56 victory at Levien Gym.

• Columbia's 54 rebounds against the Bears were its most in a game since Feb. 25, 2023, also against Brown.

• Columbia recorded its sixth game of the season with 10 or more made threes (13-36).

Fliss Henderson played a season-high 29 minutes.

Nicole Stephens set career-highs in points (17), field goals made (7), attempted (10), shooting percentage (.700), 3-pointers made (4) and attempted (6).

• Hsu and Collins each scored 20+ points, marking the second time in the last four games they have combined to do so (Jan. 27 at Penn). ALL-TIME SCORING GREAT
Abbey Hsu is currently No. 2 in scoring in Columbia basketball history (men's or women's) with 1,962 career points. She is 11 points behind the all-time record held by Camille Zimmerman '18CC.

• Hsu is tied for fifth on the Ivy League's all-time women's scoring list. She pulled into a tie with Vita Redding (Brown, 1995-99) with a 23-point outing in last Saturday's win against the Bears.

ABOUT THE BIG GREEN
• Dartmouth (6-14, 0-8 Ivy) is in its first year under the guidance of head coach Linda Cimino. What the Big Green lack on offense, averaging just 49.2 points per game, they make up for in defense, allowing just 54.8 points per game. Their scoring defense ranks No. 12 in the NCAA and their field goal defense ranks in the top 75. That being said, their leading scorer, Victoria Page, averages just 8.2 points per game.
 
• Columbia has won seven straight in the all-time series against Dartmouth. Two weeks ago, they pulled away in the second half to win, 71-52. Last season, the Lions earned an 80-37 victory at Dartmouth. The 37 points allowed were the fewest against a Div. I opponent in the history of Columbia women's basketball. Dartmouth leads the all-time tilt, 52-20.
 
ABOUT THE CRIMSON
 Harvard (13-8, 6-2 Ivy) hasn't dropped an Ivy League game against anyone not named Columbia or Princeton. Last weekend, they handled Dartmouth up in New Hampshire, 68-50, Five Crimson players scored in double figures, led by 16 from Lola Mullaney. Harmoni Turner leads the team in scoring at 19.4 points per game, which ranks second in the Ivy League behind Abbey Hsu. Elena Rodriguez's 7.3 rebounds are tied with Hsu for fourth in the Ivies.
 
• Harvard leads the all-time series, 64-12, but the Lions have won eight of the last nine since 2020, sweeping the regular-season series in 2020, 2022 and 2023. Two weeks ago, Columbia took an 82-70 victory in New York City. Cecelia Collins led the Columbia offense with 20 points.
