Sixteen teams set to open spring season at Columbia’s third-annual tournament in Florida
NEW YORK — The Columbia women's golf team begins its 2024 championship season this weekend, hosting the Columbia Classic at Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Florida. The three-round, 54-hole tournament will span Saturday-Monday.

This year's field features 90 total competitors with 16 teams and 10 additional individuals. Columbia, Princeton, Dartmouth and Yale will represent the Ivy League. The rest of the field includes Cal State Fullerton, Eastern Kentucky, Emory, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Richmond, Seton Hall, St. John's, UAlbany and Youngstown State.
The field will tee off from the first and 10th holes in a fixed tee-time format on both Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. Monday's final round will go off in a shotgun format at 8:30 a.m.
All eight members of Columbia's team will be competing in the tournament. The team and individual competitors for Saturday's opening round will be posted when available on the live-scoring page.
The Lions were led over the fall by sophomore Emma Shen, who posted a team-best stroke average of 75.71 through seven competition rounds. She fired off back-to-back career-low rounds at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational (Oct. 21-22), including a final-round 4-under-par 68 to surge up the leaderboard and finish tied for sixth. It marked Shen's first top-10 individual finish of her collegiate career. Senior Allison Paik also earned a top-10 during the fall at the Yale Invitational (Sept. 30 – Oct. 1).
Duran Golf Club will be set as a 6,303-yard standard par 72 this weekend. Fans can visit DuranGolf.com for more information on the course.
