Women’s Golf Readies for Pinetree Invitational

Lions hit the midway point of the spring season
NEW YORK — The Columbia women's golf team will compete in the Pinetree Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The 54-hole tournament will be held at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Georgia.
The Lions are scheduled to tee off in Monday's first round beginning at 8 a.m. Columbia's team competitors will consist of Yoko Tai, Emma Shen, Angela Zhang, Paige Harrison and Allison Paik. Ava Zeng will compete as an individual.
The field will consist of 10 teams and an anticipated 57 individual competitors. The participating teams are host Kennesaw State, Northern Illinois, Delaware, Cincinnati, Florida Gulf Coast, UTEP, Charleston Southern, Xavier, Louisiana-Monroe and Columbia. Pinetree Country Club will play as a traditional par 72 at 6,201 yards.
The Lions last competed at the Tulane Classic two weeks ago. Tai, a sophomore, shot a final-round 3-over-par 75 to earn the team's top finish. Tai ended the tournament 11-over-par to tie for 33rd in the 100-player field. Not far behind Tai was Shen, who earned a top 40 at 13-over-par 229.
Tai (75.84) and Shen (75.92) are Columbia's leaders in stroke average this 2023-24 academic year. Zhang (77.69) and Zeng (77.70) are neck-and-neck for third. Senior Allison Paik (78.62) rounds out the top five.
Live scoring for the Pinetree Invitational will be available on Golfstat. Tee times for Monday's opening round will be posted on Sunday.
