GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Columbia women's golf team concluded play at the 50th Lady Paladin Invitational on Sunday. The 54-hole event was held over the weekend at the Furman University Golf Course.
The Lions were led by a trio of first-years in Christine Chang (+10), Sarah Shao (+11) and Emily Luo (+16). Chang had the team's low individual round of the weekend, firing at 1-over-par 73 in Saturday's second round. The rookie from Auburn, Alabama was solid, posting three bogeys and two birdies on the round. She went on to finish in the top half of the individual leaderboard, tying for 35th in the 77-player field.
Shao had two birdies and four bogeys for an opening-round 74, followed by two more birdies and five bogeys for a second-round 75. Both Shao and Luo only carded one hole worse than bogey all weekend. Luo posted an opening-round 74 that included three birdies and five bogeys.
Columbia (+55) placed 11th out of 13 teams, ahead of Daytona State (+63) and Georgia State (+70).
