NEW YORK — The Columbia track & field team competed against Dartmouth and Yale in a tri-meet on Saturday morning in Hanover, New Hampshire. The men's team won the meet with 59 points, while the women's team finished third with 42 points.
This was just the second time in program history Columbia won this tri-meet which has existed for over 40 years, with the only other time coming in 2019.
Collin Moore continued to have a great start to the season, placing first in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.02m.
Sophomore
Jessica Thompson finished first in the women's pole vault while
Liam Wright placed second in the men's.
In both the men's long jump and women's triple jump, Columbia had a clean sweep.
Rocco Carpinello,
Joshua Yoon, and
Tyler Yen finished first, second, and third place respectively in long jump.
Viktoria Mihaylova placed first in triple jump with
Rafaela Drake coming in second, and
Zariyah Braxton finishing third.
Obiora Okeke also had a fantastic day with a first place finish in shot put with a mark of 18.36m and a second place finish in weight throw with a mark of 19.74m.
Distance Runner
Tyler Tubman won his event, the mile, finishing with a time of 4:14.13. Rory Claire won the 1000m run with a time of 2:49.98, and
Jacob Van Orden finished first in the men's 1000m with a time of 2:25.40.
The men's 4x800m relay had a great morning, taking first place with a time of 7:45.65.

Nicholas Hayden, and
Justin Gottlieb participated in this relay.
The Lions also had a number of second place finishes in the women's long jump, men's 500m, women's 60m hurdles, women's 200m dash, and the women's 4x800m relay.

On Friday, the Lions competed in the Ramapo College Season Opener at the Armory.
Columbia's distance runner
Edward Blaha had a fantastic day, winning the men's mile with a time of 4:11.05. Freshman Henry Koike-Siera also participated in this event, finishing with a time of 4:28.23.
The Lions had a plethora of competitors in the field events. In the men's weight throw,
Parker Kim finished fourth with a mark of 17.75 meters. Junior Adam Moezaw placed 11th in shot put with a mark of 13.37m, beating his record of 13.30.
For the women's team, Eleanor Dehoog and Lily Creegan competed in weight throw. Eleanor finished 13th with a mark of 12.39 meters, also beating her personal record. Lily finished 16th with a mark of 11.08m.
