Tabion had three points to help lead the Lions to a massive Ivy win
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia women's soccer senior midfielder Maia Tabion was named the Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Week for games played October 13-19. The league office announced its weekly selections on Monday afternoon.
In a crucial win that lifted Columbia into a tie atop the Ivy League standings, the senior captain was a force all over the field in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Yale. The attacking midfielder had three points on the night and created constant pressure, sparking the attack by assisting on the opening goal. A minute later, she scored a brilliant goal from a cross, turning against the defender and slotting it far post. Her playmaking helped the team make a decisive second-half surge and led the Lions to a massive conference win.
Highlights from the match, including Tabion's amazing three points in one minute, can be found HERE.
The goal was Tabion's third of the season, and the assist was her fifth of the campaign.
This is the second Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week selection of Tabion's career, with the first coming almost a year ago today. It is also the second weekly award for Columbia in 2025, as Annie Faraone was named Offensive Player of the Week last week.
The Lions hit the road for the final time in 2025 next weekend, traveling to New Jersey to take on Princeton on Saturday at 1 p.m.
