Baseball Picked to Finish First in Ivy League Preseason Poll

The defending Ivy champs open 2025 at Kennesaw State on Friday
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia baseball has been tabbed to finish first in the 2025 Ivy League Preseason Poll, as voted on by eight sports information directors and eight media members from around the league. The poll was announced by the Ivy League on Tuesday morning.
Columbia is coming off its 16th Ivy League Championship after posting a 26-18 (17-4) record in 2024. The Lions tied their program record in conference wins last year. Columbia has won seven Ivy League titles under head coach Brett Boretti, with six of them coming since 2012.
The Lions have never been picked to finish worse than third in the Ivy League Baseball Preseason Poll. Columbia received all 16 first place votes, while Penn, Cornell, and Princeton were picked to finish behind the Lions.
The Lions open the 2025 season on Friday, Feb. 21 at Kennesaw State. First pitch from S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field is set for 4 p.m.
