Columbia moved to 13-22-1 overall and 8-9-1 in the Ivy League while Brown moved to 20-16 overall and 12-6 in conference play.
Tate Vogler set the tone, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Cole Fellows drove in three, including a home run and a double. Jack Kail added a two-RBI effort, and Owen Estabrook chipped in two hits and an RBI.
Brown struck early, scoring five runs across the first two innings. DJ Dillehay hit a two-run homer in the first, and Jack Edmund followed with a solo shot in the second. After a hit-by-pitch put a runner aboard, Matt Luigs added an RBI double and later scored as the Bears took the lead, 5-0.
Columbia got one back in the third with a two-out rally. Tate Vogler reached with a single and moved into scoring position before Cole Fellows lined an RBI double to right, bringing him home, trimming the deficit to 5-1.
Brown continued to roll offensively with a four-run fourth inning. After a walk and a hit-by-pitch extended the fourth, Jack Edmunds delivered an RBI single, and a wild pitch advanced runners. In the fifth, a one-out double set up Mika Petersen's RBI single, and with two outs, Mark Henshon launched a two-run homer before Logan Meusy added an RBI single to push the lead to 10-1.
The Lions broke through in the fifth, batting through the order to get back in the game. Estabrook sparked the inning with a single, and Vogler and Ben Fishel followed to load the bases before Jack Kail delivered a two-run single.
Columbia kept the pressure on, and with two outs, Estabrook came through again with an RBI single before Jackson Brewer added a run-scoring double to cut the deficit to 10-6. The Lions brought the tying run to the plate, but Camren Piwnicki came up with a huge strikeout to keep the Bears in front.
Brown tacked on insurance runs with RBI outs in the fifth before a two-run seventh, highlighted by Mika Petersen's homer, pushed the lead further out of reach.
In the eighth inning, Cole Fellows blasted a two-run homer, his seventh of the season, to keep the hope alive for the Lions.
The Bears added two more runs with RBI from Luigs and Mika Petersen to take the lead for good.
Piwnicki (3-1) took the win, worked 2.2 innings, allowed two hits, and no earned runs.
Starting pitcher Thomas Santana (4-4) was charged with the loss after tossing 2.0 innings, allowing five hits and one strikeout, as the Bears jumped out to an early lead.
